Imaging Technology Can be Used to Diagnose a Number of conditions

A fluoroscopy is often referred to as an X-ray "movie," because it tracks motion inside the body. This advanced imaging technology can be extremely useful in diagnosing diseases and conditions and planning treatment. It's often used to take close looks at the skeletal, digestive, circulatory, respiratory, and reproductive systems.

How It Works

When you come in for a fluoroscopy, we'll give you a contrasting agent (or dye) that lets your doctor better see what's going on inside you. We next use sophisticated equipment that passes an X-ray beam over the targeted area of the body and begins taking images at a fairly rapid pace.

Special computer software captures 25 to 30 images of the body per second. Those detailed images are shown on a high-definition monitor, which allows us to track the contrasting agent's movement through the body. This allows us to take a close look at what's working properly and where any problems might be.
